Emma Williams is the executive director at PTA UK, the UK’s largest membership organisation representing parent bodies in schools. Since Emma joined PTA UK in October 2013, she has made it her mission to make sure that every school benefits from an effective parent body, feeling passionate that parents should be both consulted and communicated with in their child’s school and in education policy. Emma brings a wealth of experience to PTA UK, having worked for 20 years in the arts, in business and commercial roles, including business director at Roundhouse and deputy director of Camden Arts Centre.
As a mother myself, I like to know what’s going on at my children’s schools and be informed of any changes they are making ahead of when it happens. It’s important to have a positive relationship with the school; after all, it’s also beneficial for them to gain feedback that they may not have taken into consideration beforehand.
