Stephen Daniels, Marketing Manager for Softlink Europe, explains: “We already provide support for iPads and Android tablets via browsers and this is very popular with Libraries that are using our systems; ‘Library Link’ is the next step in offering extended access to the library for mobile users.”
“Our current focus is to provide mobile solutions for all libraries to enhance their service delivery. This means we are continually offering the latest technology innovations for our users.”
Softlink customers can download Library Link for free from the iTunes App Store or Google Play. The application can then be used with Oliver / Liberty v5 Build 4 or higher with a web services API module.
“We are extremely proud of the developments we are making and the positive impact this is having on the services our customers are able to provide. The mobile app will be used by very diverse institutions and it will be exciting to see the different ways they make the most of this technology.”
Softlink Europe provides Library Management Systems for Health, Law, College, Charity, Special, Corporate and School Libraries – the demand for a mobile application has come from all of these with the primary purpose of improving the reach of the library outside of the traditional library walls.
