Cornerstones Education have launched their new curriculum for the Early Years Foundation Stage, to coincide with the government’s revised framework requirements.
Like their Primary KS1 and KS2 curriculum, their new EYFS materials are innovative and practical, designed and written by ex-teachers and education professionals motivated by a love of learning and a desire to inspire children’s interest. Their EYFS curriculum framework is based on current educational theory and excellent practice in the Early Years. Its flexible, non-prescriptive guidance meets OfSTED requirements but allows space for practitioners’ individual knowledge, initiative and creativity. The ideas will help staff focus on what is important, stimulating learning, whilst maintaining coverage, rigour and consistency throughout the school.
Cornerstones Education provide additional resources to help both new and experienced teachers, including hard copy and online versions of the curriculum materials, booklist, resources list, key words list and easy-to-use tool for mapping pupil achievement against Early Learning Goals. Their guidance handbook (written in consultation with Di Chilvers, author and education consultant) ensures staff gain maximum benefit from the package.
