Our Advisory Board helps us stay at the cutting edge of education. Their independent advice means that we really take time to understand the issues and opportunities our schools and teachers face. We use the Board's expertise to help support our community and ensure we are sharing innovations that reflect the world in which you live. The Board will also provide valued advice to help grow the Innovate My School community and ensure we are working towards our vision.

This Advisory Board consists of voluntary members acting as guardians of Innovate My School's mission and vision. They provide advice to make sure that Innovate My School's output is useful to a broad spectrum of educators and teachers.

To keep the ideas and perspectives fresh, the chair of the meeting will rotate termly.

    • Sir Mark Grundy

      Sir Mark Grundy is the Executive Principal of Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust.

      Alison Clark-Wilson is Principal Research Lead for the EDUCATE Project, part of University College London's Institute of Education

    • Vipul Bhargava

      Vipul Bhargava is the CEO and founder of GILT Education in London. GILT Education provides advisory and consulting services to education companies across the globe. Vipul is currently serving as a Special Advisor to the Department of International Trade advising Education Technology businesses and Independent Schools on international growth. Vipul has also served as Global Vice President at Education First (EF) where he helped grow an online language learning business across Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Vipul’s experience also includes heading Strategy and Corporate Development for RM Education, a UK listed Education technology business and a strategy consultant with Marakon Associates. Vipul holds an MBA from London Business School and undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science.

    • Andrew Nolan

      Andrew Nolan is the Manager of Education Technology at GEMS Education. He is responsible for research into new technologies and their implementation in educational settings. Applying current best thinking towards the development of new and novel mechanisms of schooling that leverage cutting edge technologies to improve student outcomes and learning efficiencies. This includes amongst others: Artificial Intelligence, Adaptive Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Drones, and Blockchain technologies

    • Sophie Bailey

      Sophie Bailey is the founder of the iTunes new and noteworthy, The Edtech Podcast. The mission of The Edtech Podcast is to improve the dialogue between ‘ed’ and ‘tech’ for better innovation, through storytelling. The podcast is downloaded 1500+ times a week, from up to 109 countries with the UK, US & Aus in the top 3. Sophie is a mentor and advisor within the edtech community, and is particularly passionate about female entrepreneurship.

    • bukky

      Bukky Yusuf is an associate assistant headteacher leading the NQT / ITT development programme and IT to enhance teaching & learning. She has spent over a decade in London schools, teaching Science, A level Chemistry and Level 3 BTEC. She is also a Secondary science consultant and qualified coach. Bukky is a London regional leader for WomenEd and is registered as a leadership coach as part of a pilot run by the Department for Education. She has presented at various conferences including Bett, PedagooHampshire and WomenEd, supporting the development of educators at all levels and promotes initiatives to help colleagues maintain their wellbeing. Bukky shares these key messages through social media such as StaffRm, Twitter and Yammer.

  • Patrick Hayes

    Patrick Hayes is the director of the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) the only trade association covering the entire UK educational suppliers sector. BESA has over 80 years of heritage serving UK education and has over 300 members, with a combined annual revenue of £2 billion. Patrick was previously an executive director at TES Global host to the largest network of teachers in the world, and was responsible for the organisation’s cross-party Advisory Board, chaired by Lord David Puttnam. He writes regularly for the Huffington Post, and a range of trade and national media outlets..

  • dominic norrish

    Dominic Norrish is a former History teacher, school leader and educational technology consultant. He is currently the group director of technology at United Learning, a national group of over 50 maintained and independent schools. Prior to this he worked for an academy trust, where he implemented a 1-to-1 strategy. Dominic is now involved in similar projects in several United Learning schools, utilising iPads, Chromebooks and Windows devices. He has written a book on the subject in collaboration with other UK expert practitioners, available at www.educate1to1.org/book.

  • Mark Anderson

    Mark Anderson is an award-winning blogger, author and speaker. He was recently recognised as the most influential edtech expert in Europe, and the second most influential edu-blogger in the UK. This blog also won the Education Blog of the Year 2015 in the UK Blog Awards 2015, and second in the Education section of the Vuelio Blog Awards 2015.

  • Mark Dorling

    Mark Dorling is the former national CPD coordinator for Computing At School (CAS), where he led various national initiatives funded by the Department for Education and other partner organisations. He is probably best known for his work in the Digital Schoolhouse project at Langley Grammar School, which gained him national and international recognition. He played a leading role in developing the 2014 National Curriculum Computing Programmes of Study and CAS Computational Thinking guidance for teachers, and led the development of the highly popular Computing Progression Pathways framework.

  • bedwell

    Sarah Bedwell is an Aussie teaching English and other things in the north west of England. She loves using technology in new ways to engage and excite learning - though pedagogy will always come before technology. She's taught a variety of subjects in both Australia and England and has experienced teaching in several different schools and settings. She likes to experiment with new ideas in and out of the classroom in order to continually improve her practice. Sarah is currently lead learner for using New Technologies to Enhance Teaching and Learning - a fancy title for the person with elearning responsibilities in her school.
