CPD Online provides tools for Local Authorities that save time and resources, automates repetitive administrative tasks and provides real benefits to the Children's workforce by improving take up, and tracking and monitoring Professional Development.

By working closely with Local Authorities, CPD Online has evolved in the last 8 years from a school-focused application into a large number of modules that operate not just across childrens' services but the entire workforce.

North Somerset was the first Local Authority to use CPD Online. It is now used to support workforce reform and professional development across the council, including schools, social care, early years, governors, elected members, the private and voluntary section and council IT.

Our most popular CPD Online modules are CourseFinder and the electronic Professional Development Record (ePDR) as these can be up and running very quickly and have an immediate impact. For example, in one LA 99% of all CPD Course bookings are now undertaken online using CourseFinder, with attendance automatically tracked and monitored for each participant.
