Key Stage Theatre is a derivative of ‘AJR Productions’ established in 2009 which delivers educational theatre into schools. We are the first company to cover an entire curriculum in just one visit.
Our work is thoughtful, sincere, courageous and witty. We focus on the education and entertainment of young people across the United Kingdom and provide the best value for money to schools.
The company was formed by Adam Rood, who graduated in 2008 from the Guildford School of Acting with a BA HONS in Theatre. He has since worked as an Actor, Teacher, Composer and Director in all areas of the performing arts industry.
Adam has also worked closely with Primary and Secondary schools, both through Key Stage Theatre and as a freelance teacher/workshop leader.
As a Secondary School student Adam wondered why the entertaining elements of plays weren’t educational. Determined to fuse these two ideals ‘Alphabet of a Teenager’ was born.
Our three productions are:
Alphabet of a Teenager - The entire KS3 PSHE curriculum in just 50 minutes.
Growing Up - The entire KS2 PSHE/Citizenship curriculum in just 50 minutes.
Over The Top - Using World War One poetry and giving historical context regarding trench warfare.
- Cheque

- Wyvern Technology College
- Corpus Christi Catholic College
- Denstone College
- Solent Skills Quest
- Moulsham High School
The entire PSHE/Citizenship Curriculum is explored in both of our fifty minute piece.
All of our plays follow strict curriculum guidelines and adhere to those set out by the Department for Education.
