We install the software on our webservers, and host your mobile website. We provide an Android App which parents, staff, and students, can download to their mobile phones free of charge. Users can then easily view your school mobile website on their phones. You or your designated staff can edit the mobile webpages as much as they like. You can have as many pages or sections on your mobile website as you wish.

We recently purchased Mobile School Website software because we wanted to give parents access to key school information on their phones. Most parents are not in front of a PC all day, but they do have mobile phones with them. If they want to find out something about the school they can now look it up on their phone. We have had a main school website for years, but on a mobile phone this looks like "ant scribble". The new Mobile School Website software looks like it has been designed for a phone and the buttons on the phone screen react when you touch them with your finger.
This software does not rely on "Apps" and this is what we found attractive. It works straight away on any mobile phone that can access the internet. You don't have to tell parents to download a specific app for their phone. They don't have to pay for Apps from Apple or Android. They just save the web address as a favourite and get an MSW logo to click on. We tell parents that MSW stands for "My School Website".
For the cost, the software is amazing. We could not believe that for £29.99 (it was on offer) that we could have a mobile website for our school. We were wondering if there was a catch. But no, that is the total cost. No ongoing maintenance agreements that rip you off.
Setting up the software was very easy. We got the download as soon as we paid online, and our ICT Technician set it up in about 15 minutes. Our office manager then started to create the webpages. She was nervous as she is not an IT guru. On the Mobile School Website training page www.mobileschoolwebsites.com there are some training videos. We just pointed her at the videos page and left her to it. Within 30 minutes we had a live, working mobile website. I was amazed at how easy it was.
We are now letting parents know about the new site through our newsletter. We are putting a QR code on our main website so that they can photograph it and get straight to the mobile website.
I feel confident that if we have snow and the school has to close, that more parents can be kept up to date without having to phone us and create a logjam at our switchboard.
We have not really fully explored all of the uses of the software yet. One of our Heads of Year wants to experiment with a page to keep her year group interested in year news.
We are thinking of having a survey on the mobile site that parents can complete on their phones whilst they are waiting for parents evening appointments in the school hall.
The beauty of the system too is that as well as making page updates in the office, you can update the mobile website from a phone too, so long as you have the password. (And you don't need a degree in HTML!)
Mobile School Websites have done a good job. I cannot comment on their technical support because so far we have not had to contact them. Everything has just worked. Anyway, for £29.99 I was not that concerned. Plus they offered a 100% money back guarantee so we thought there was nothing much to lose.
My advice is to give it a go. You don't need to invest in complex training for your staff.
When we bought the software they had a QR code on their website. You can use this and you get a demo mobile site on your own phone straight away so you can try it out. This convinced us to give it a try and we bought the software shortly afterwards.
We are getting lots of hits on this new mobile site. Not sure what proportion is students checking it out, and what proportion is parents. Increasing our profile with users has got to be good PR.
