Fun Learning Interactive Workshops are an easy learning RE service for schools.  Hundreds of Primary, Secondary and Special Needs Schools throughout UK have enjoyed our whole day, half day and assembly presentations on Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism that are fully in line with the National Curriculum and the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.

Presentations: Our skilled teachers present Curriculum Enriching Actvities that transform school assembly halls and classrooms into an authentic Temple.  Students and pupils receive fully interactive lessons which include, festival days like Diwali or Wesak, dressing up in authentic costumes and masks, dance, music, drama, respect and self expression workshops, competitions, prizes and much more.

Staff: Sakhya and Kavita are multi lingual and multi skilled teachers.  Sakhya is an accomplished musician and actor and can adapt to any school needs, often engaging introverted children and children with special needs in all of the workshop activities.  Whilst Kavita is an excellent artist, dressup and face paint artist and calligrapher with many years of teaching experience.

Lesson Content: All lessons contain academic subjects such as maths, history, geography, linguistics, ecology and science.  Head Teachers and RE Co ordinators from many schools have lauded the unique style in which these RE lessons are delivered along with beautiful music and the relaxing aroma of high quality incense.

Eco Farm: All schools may take advantge of an exiting day trip to our Temple and Eco Farm in South Lanarkshire, just sixty miles north of Carlisle.  Children can visit the temple and learn about ecology and organic farming.  Hot tasty lunches are also provided upon request.

Fiona McLellan: R.E. Co-ordinator at Dalmiling Primary School had the following to say about our visit...  "I thought the presentation was very educational and stimulating. It gave the children a vast insight to different aspects of the religion and I think it was a great way to introduce them to it. We are studying Hinduism after the October holidays and the children are really looking forward to expanding their knowledge. I would just like to say thanks again for coming in to the school and doing the presentation.  It was excellent!"

Please visit our website for more information and details of our workshops and Eco Farm visits.

How does this help a school?
Attendance
What to speak of children not attending school on the day we visit your school, they even give up their play time to continue our fun learning RE lessons! Through our system of teaching, we help children to understand that learning really is fun and exiting. Many Head Teachers and staff have commented that their pupils are still talking about their memorable lessons with us.

"Dear Sakhya and Kavita, The children still enthuse about the experience of your visit for which I am most grateful!" June McAvoy: Head of R.E. Grangemouth High School, Falkirk
Citizenship
Through our Interactive Workshops, we facilitate the understanding for the development of good character. Tolerance has been one of the great cultural undertones of Eastern Religion for thousands of years. To learn the virtues of patience, confidence and humility, coupled with enthusiasm and determination are some of the qualities within our Workshop on Respect and Self Appreciation.

"These school visits should be seen as a crucial aspect of any self-respecting R.E. Department's programme. As a person the Hindu Priest is warm and genuine. As a speaker he is skilful, honest, polite and challenging." Head of R.E. Plymouth High School for Girls, Devon
Community Cohesion
Multiculturalism and Community Cohesion play a major part in all our presentations. Dressing up in cultural dress and dancing to traditional music is a natural way of allowing children to experience and understand other religions and cultures.
Curriculum
Our presentations are in line with the RE and RME curriculum. We cover the basic beliefs, scripture, lifestyle and system of worship along with many essential cultural items connected to the religion. Festivals, dance, drama, story telling and other topics make for a fully interactive and experiential flavour of Eastern Religions.
Eco-friendly
We invite all schools to visit our Eco Farm in South Lanarkshire to learn first hand about Ecology and the Environment. As a matter of course, our workshops naturally include these important practical subjects.
Enrichment
Our Fun Learning Interactive Workshops are extremely enriching for the pupils and even teachers. We don't only present a bunch of beliefs and traditions. We present the actual flavour and taste of the underlying culture and devotion within each religion. As the old saying goes... "The proof of the pudding is in the eating!" So we give your school a chance to taste (in small doses) exactly what these Eastern Faiths are like.

"Without oversimplification, these presentations have been informative, engaging and vibrant. They have appealed to all the senses and have stimulated much work and discussion back in the classroom."
Susan Bell:R.E. Co-ordinator, St Columb Northern Primary, Columb, Cornwall.
Financial
Often times when we visit a school, teachers mention that they had such and such person or organisation come in at a high cost and were disappointed with the level of presentation and service. On the other hand they tell us that we have offered them much more than their money's worth and will call us back again. So we always offer your school a guarantee of very high standard displays, workshops and resources.

"For my part, I shall most definitely recommend your organisation to my colleagues and invite them to speak to you. Thank you again for a very enlightening visit. Blessings to you all."
Lorna Nelson: Nethermill Primary School, Parkgate, Dumfries
International Links
Our organisation is charity based and we have wide international links with our sister charities and overseas organisations. So we can help you link up your school with Temples and Eco Farms all over the world. Just ask and we'll do the rest...
Safeguarding
All our teachers possess a Full Disclosure Certificate and have worked with young and older children for over 30 years. Your children receive one of the best RE and general knowledge experiential lessons ever when you book us into your school.
Special Educational Needs
We have had great success visiting Special Needs schools and this month we have advertised our services in Nasem's SPECIAL MAG. Children with learning difficulties and behavioural problems enjoy the freedom of expression which we allow in our workshops. Dressing up, music, dancing and sometimes acting in a drama are very popular items in this area.
Student Voice
Through our Respect and Freedom of Expression Workshop, teachers are often amazed at what children who they may have known for years actually come out with. We believe that freedom of speech and personal expression are so important that in every workshop we give some time for your students and pupils to express themselves as fully as possible without any fear of retribution. Often times it is quite an emotional experience and leads to better all round class relations and communications.
Teaching & Learning
Sakhya Prema has over thirty years experience teaching and practising Eastern Religion. He has also taught children for the same amount of time in summer camps, youth clubs and schools. Kavita Devi was born into a strictly vegetarian Hindu family and has taught in schools in the Midlands for over ten years. Together they make a good team and hold the children's attention with ease. Children of all ages respond very well to their dynamic and often humorous presentations.
