Publisher's description

This is the lowest cost fully digital tunkey school radio system available on the market today.

Everything is included, you get all the kit and half a day's training with Russell Prue on your site.

You start with the minimum amount of equipment needed to broadcast professionally. Then as you develop your capability and resources permit, you can build your system up into a brilliant fully specified dual touch-screen monitor system that has two guest microphone capability without compromising your any previous investment.  We are able to meet this exceptionally low price because we make the equipment ourselves and don't need to buy in expensive software made in the USA.

Young people desperately need to learn how to work well in groups, this is a key skill for C21st success.  Live School Radio does this in a creative, ICT rich environment.

We used this equipment to power BETT Radio and the UK's Safer Internet Radio Station this year and pulled in over 200,000,000 live listeners!  It really is that good and easy to use.

The Desktop is a complete turnkey solution - everything you need brought together and integrated with our In-House Live Show Control Software. This Windows 7 Ultimate solution is perfect for any studio environment and can also be moved at anytime. Available with or without an additional flight-case to store and transport the monitor, microphones, headphones and cables.  We believe that this is the lowest cost digital broadcasting solution currently on the market.

For an incredibly high level of reliability we build our own specialised Industrial PC and Digital Sound Control Centre and this is central to our Broadcaster Desktop. Booting from a solid state hard drive into Windows 7 is exceptionally quick and the RAID1 twin 500GB Hard Disk Array will ensure your jingles and music files remain backed up at all times. Not one of our existing customers has lost a file through a single hard disk failure. The 23" Wide-Touch Screen is a joy to work with, it has increased screen real-estate that we have been able to use to bring more functionality at a lower cost. The ON AIR and MIC LIVE lights are now on-screen, an external dual illuminated sign is available as a cost option and can be added at anytime in the future. A sign forms part of the Guest Studio Pack, should you wish to upgrade to that in the future.  You can also upgrade to Flight Cases if you think you are going to be moving your system on a regular basis, otherwise this is another saving that you are able to make.

Two presenter Berhinger HPX2000 headphones are included so two presenters can operate  the system at the same time.  Up to Four presenters can work from the standard system as an additional two presenter headphone pack is available as an upgrade.

M-Audo AC30 Studio speakers are included, as you would expect with any sophisticated broadcasting solution, these speakers are automatically muted when a microphone channel is opened.

Full product specification and priced options available at www.AndertonTiger.com/Desktop

Options:

  • Additional Flight Cases - for Monitor, Microphones, Headphones, Amplifier, Studio Arm and all of the cables
  • Second Monitor - to extend the computer desktop onto another screen, perfect for editing, scriptwriting, texting, tweeting and generally communicating during a live show
  • Studio Guest Pack - Two BeyerDynamic Guest Microphones, Stands, Headphones, H/P Amp, Dual Illuminated ON AIR & MIC LIVE sign & all cables
  • Additional Dual Illuminated Sign - A remote mounted ON AIR/MIC LIVE sign for outside your studio up to 2 signs can be controlled at the same time a 5 metre cable is included and one spare USB port is required, ceiling mount included
  • Additional Presenter Headphones - A pack of two HPS3000 Headphones to compliment the existing presenter headphones, the amp can support 4 sets of headphones all with individual level control
  • Additional Training - upgrade your training to include pupils and staff for the remaining half of the day, or purchase full additional days if necessary

This solution can be upgraded when your capability and resources permit without throwing anything away.  Savings are made by not including flight-cases unless you need to move your system around right from the start.  Live School Radio enhances collaborative learning, Speaking & Listening and is a brilliant way to extend learning opportunities with rich exciting ICT.  Suitable for all ages and abilities.  Language development both for English as an additional language and MFL provision can be enhanced with live school radio.  We often see the best results coming from schools that allow pupils and students to lead on live radio.

Book a free demonstration workshop with School Radio Broadcaster Russell Prue - Contact Sarah on 0845 838 5150 between 10am and 10pm 7 days a week.

Live School Radio has never been this much fun!

Schools can also generate advertising revenue by making and selling adverts on their radio shows, local companies will actually pay for this.

Having had the equipment delivered today, training given and listened to the children's first live broadcast, we have only positive things to say about the Broadcaster Desktop. It is compact yet robust, simple to use yet produces results of an impressive quality. We can already foresee an enormous range of uses for our primary school to enhance the curriculum and develop a range of skills, knowledge and expertise in the children (and hopefully staff too!)
The children quickly acquired (within an hour) the basic skills necessary to produce a live broadcast using jingles, talk and music, gaining confidence quickly to attempt some relatively sophisticated techniques. As it can be used alongside Skype, the world really will be at our fingertips.
The broadcaster desktop is one of the best things that our school has purchased that has totally inspired our young people to take responsibily. They believe in themselves and are able achieve great things from using this equipment. They see themselves as real radio DJ's.
Although the equipment is relatively new to the school the children adore using it. It is so well organised and tailored for children in mind. The desk and touch screen monitor is clear and simple to use and the children have picked up very complicated (in many of the other teachers minds) procedures to make their broadcasts great successes.

Our school pupils and staff would highly recommend this fabulous piece of modern technology to any school. The equipment has so many uses for broadcasts that we are still exploring. So if your school has the spare cash then makensure you get this.
As a Specialist School for Communication and Interaction we wanted to provide students with the opportunity to develop their speaking and listening skills using innovative practice.
Russell and Sarah delivered our radio on our Inservice Day to enable staff to receive training. The feedback was 100% positive and Russell's energised presentation enthused staff. Every question was answered and we are reassured by having the phone support if needed.
We have since been broadcasting on a daily basis, sharing news, music, traffic reports, and weather. The quality of the broadcast is excellent.
The radio is easy to set up and use which means students quickly get working with it. They enjoy broadcasting and listening to each other broadcast. We look forward to linking the radio to our website to enable anyone in the world to listen to us. A huge recommendation for the desktop radio system, and for Russell and Sarah.
I wouldn't normally leave a review until I had had the product for some considerable time and had thoroughly 'got to grips' with it, however the Anderton Tiger Broadcaster Desktop School Radio is deserving of an exception being made.

We had previously been conducting podcasts/pre-recorded radio broadcasts using a pocket sized mp3 recorder, however only 8 days ago we upgraded to the Desktop Broadcaster and haven't looked back since!

The professional set up has not only raised the quality of our recordings to a whole new level due to the high standard of hardware and software, but the actual appearance of the system itself has led to an unbelievable rise in interest from colleagues subsequently leading to more requests for its use.

Of course given the fact that this is an audio recording and broadcasting system it would be silly of me to continue to type my review, so here is an actual podcast that I recorded last week with my Department Head discussing our first few days use of the Desktop Broadcaster radio system.

If you like what you hear or even if you don't (due to my broadcasting skills) but would like to find out more, then I would strongly recommend getting in touch with Russell Prue from Anderton Tiger who has been extremely supportive throughout our sourcing process and is an absolute wealth of knowledge in this field.

Happy Broadcasting!!!
