My school in Bridlington has used a small studio package for over two years now and to date it has far exceeded our wildest expectations. The children use the radio station daily, not only around school and playground, they also stream live onto the internet. They all thoroughly enjoy using the station, which has now become second nature. Children as young as Year 3, now schedule and broadcast programmes from it.
Creativity has improved in school, as many children love to see their written work converted into a radio broadcast. Parents are more engaged as they regularly hear their own children's work as it broadcasts onto the playground prior to school opening.
The technical support from P squared has also been excellent. They have always been available to help sort out any issues (normally finger trouble) and seamlessly helped the school move from broadcsting on the playground to streaming on the internet. I would say to any school who is thinking about investing in a radio station. Don't think, just do it. You'll never look back!!
