APP-Based Curricular Targets in Reading, Writing and Mathematics

Each package consists of:

Three sets of APP based, sub-levelled, curriculum target sheets;
Including:
- Target sheets that enable pupils to record their progress and identify the next steps.
- A version of the target sheets for parents/carers to encourage them to give their support.
- Group record sheets for teachers to track pupils' progress and focus their planning
- Guidance for head teachers on the introduction of the target sheets
- Guidance for teachers on the day-to-day use of the target sheets
- An example planning format that makes use of the target statements
- Targets in label format for stickers
- A model letter of explanation to parents/carers
The "I can" target statements are written in child-friendly language and range from 1c to
5a. For writing and mathematics the target sheets are presented in a choice of two formats.
The first format has one sub-level per sheet and the second format divides the targets for
most sub-levels between two sheets, giving fewer targets per sheet. The sheets can be
stuck into the front of pupils' books, or made into a booklet, the choice is yours.
The reading target statements do not lend themselves to being split into initial and further
targets, so are presented in the single sheet format only.
