Background
It seems there has never been so much interest in gifted and talented education. DCSF has continued its national leading teacher scheme, and schools are beginning to self-evaluate with more precision using National Quality Standards. This resource refers to the English subject specific Classroom Quality Standards, the new curriculum, the revised Framework for teaching English, encourages the use of English APP guidelines to assess work and follows the DCSF recommendations on AfL, SEAL and ECM.
What is it?
G&T initiatives are part of every school’s drive to personalise learning. Written by Frances Gregory and Bob Cox, the resources in this pack are designed to meet the need for stimulating English ideas that ensure extension for the more able but which can be accessed – with skilled facilitation – by others in the class as well.
