The mirrors arrived at the venue (Polam Hall School in Darlington), which is also my place of work during the day as Head of Drama, and there was an immediate buzz. Children are rehearsing for a production of ‘West Side Story’ in June and have been using the mirrors every day: they love them! Four mirrors in line reflect the whole theatre floor, allowing a large cast to see their movement.
The best surprise has been how useful they are in the day-to-day teaching of Drama from Year 7 to A-Level. Pupils love to practise facial expressions and movement, mime and gesture to prepare for performances and it’s incredibly useful. The mirrors are now due to feature in GCSE and AS Drama examination performances in May 2012 as props/tools to highlight explorative strategies, such as thought tracking. They also are placed at front of stage so exam pupils rehearsing can see exactly what the examiner and audience will see on the big day! What a tool!
Overall, an incredible buy and hugely useful in an educational and academic setting: they’ve transformed my Theatre! I recommend these mirrors HIGHLY!

(Principal of BrightStar & The Alexander Academy and Head of Drama at Polam Hall School)
