What is The Key?
The Key is an independent service that supports nearly 11,000 school leaders by providing practical, expertly researched answers to their questions on all aspects of school leadership and management. These answers, which include case studies of good practice and sample documents, are shared online with all members of The Key.
The service currently saves an average of 1 million hours of school leaders' time per year
It works by preventing duplication of effort. Previously, individual schools would have researched the same questions independently, but now, they can find the answer on our website or ask a new question and we will find the answer for them within three working days.
The Key’s articles include:
- Staff - sample job descriptions, pay spines and thresholds, employment legislation
- Curriculum and learning - assessment case studies and creative curriculum ideas, the new primary curriculum
- Pupils and parents - community cohesion, dealing with bullies, extended services, engaging parents with reports
- Administration and management - model policies, ICT systems, health and safety issues; the latest government updates
- School improvement - sample SEFs, fundraising sources and ideas, preparing for an inspection, building regulations
And many more.
