This is the cheapest fully digital tunkey school radio system available in the world today. Live Radio doesn't have to cost the earth. We've built a system specially for your learners and even written our own software.
Everything is included, you get all the kit and half a day with Russell Prue on your site, who has worked for the BBC and regularly broadcasts to educators on his own radio station. We are the only School Radio manufacturer that has their own Radio Station, Anderton Tiger Radio are ON AIR 24 hours a day.
You start with the minimum amount of equipment needed to broadcast professionally. Then as you develop your capability and resources permit, you can build your system up into a brilliant fully specified dual touch-screen monitor system that has two guest microphone capability without compromising your any previous investment. We are able to meet this exceptionally low price because we make the equipment ourselves and don't need to buy in expensive software from the USA.
Young people desperately need to learn how to work well in groups, this is a key skill for C21st success. Live School Radio does this in a creative, ICT rich environment.
We used this equipment to power BETT Radio and the UK's Safer Internet Radio Station this year and pulled in over 40 million live listeners! It really is that good and easy to use.
The Desktop is a complete turnkey solution - everything you need brought together and integrated with our In-House Live Show Control Software. This Windows 7 Ultimate solution is perfect for any studio environment and can also be moved at anytime. Available with or without an additional flight-case to store and transport the monitor, microphones, headphones and cables. We believe that this is the lowest cost digital broadcasting solution currently on the market.
For an incredibly high level of reliability we build our own specialised Industrial PC and Digital Sound Control Centre and this is central to our Broadcaster Desktop. Booting from a solid state hard drive into Windows 7 is exceptionally quick and the RAID1 twin 500GB Hard Disk Array will ensure your jingles and music files remain backed up at all times. Not one of our existing customers has lost a file through a single hard disk failure. The 23" Wide-Touch Screen is a joy to work with, it has increased screen real-estate that we have been able to use to bring more functionality at a lower cost. The ON AIR and MIC LIVE lights are now on-screen, an external dual illuminated sign is available as a cost option and can be added at anytime in the future. A sign forms part of the Guest Studio Pack, should you wish to upgrade to that in the future. You can also upgrade to Flight Cases if you think you are going to be moving your system on a regular basis, otherwise this is another saving that you are able to make.
Two presenter Berhinger HPX2000 headphones are included so two presenters can operate the system at the same time. Up to Four presenters can work from the standard system as an additional two presenter headphone pack is available as an upgrade.
M-Audo AC30 Studio speakers are included, as you would expect with any sophisticated broadcasting solution, these speakers are automatically muted when a microphone channel is opened.

This is something that your students will want to do, they will come in early and stay later, in fact some of our customers tell us that have to throw the children out at the end of the day
Try any of the amazing jobs associated with live Radio, experience them in school and decide if any of them appeal to you.
Working together and respecting each other is essential for the smooth operation of a school radio station.
Broadcast outside of school and into the local community, involve different groups, invite them in and make brilliant and diverse radio programmes.
Anything you teach in school can be used with this device, hanging learning onto something that the children want to do is easy!
Talk about Eco-Sustainability on your shows or reflect on the fact that the kit is extremely green and uses zero power in standby.
Extent your students' capability and expose them to experiences outside of the norm for a school, just the entrepreneurial opportunities are enough to be thinking about and there's loads more too!
Improve these, with live revision shows, use our Skype functionality and promote phone-in after school to help with preparation for exams.
Make money with your school radio station, sell adverts to local businesses, run a proper business that really makes money, if you're radio shows are good that is!
Broadcast around the globe, twin with schools, broadcast live to each other and develop language skills.
Use other computers around the school for pre-show prep, make jingles in Garageband on your Apple Macs, use Audacity on your RM CC4 network stations, use your Acer Netbooks or whatever you have, anything WAV or MP3 can be used on your Desktop Radio Kit
Encourage Parents to listen live on the Internet, get them involved in shows, have a Parents regular live show, get them to broadcast shows themselves that is if they can get a moment to do so in between the children using the system.
Talk about Safeguarding, make shows about personal safety, make it part of your language, encourage young people to work well together looking after each other
The kit is very easy to use and has some outstanding and unique SEN features that make using it accessible to people with additional physical and co-ordination needs.
Where do we start, this is the definition of Student Voice, and is as good as it gets. Live School Radio is the best way for your young people to have a say, it just doesn't get any better.
Getting young people to learn how to teach other young people is being recognised as key to their intellectual development, allow your students and pupils to instruct others in the use of your radio kit. Base your lessons around a live radio show, make a podcast live in a very short time and publish it world-wide
Set up and training is carried out by the owner, Russell, who brilliantly trains and handles a large class and teachers on how to work the equipment, and most importantly create an exciting show, complete with jingles and beds.
We have recently added a set of wireless speakers to the system so children can listen to the radio in the playground.
I can't recommend this product highly enough, from all aspect (learning / fun / training provided / support / product features etc).
The service has been faultless and Russell has given us all the technical and educational input we have needed. The children remain inspired (especially those lucky enough to be part of a group involved in a training day with Russell) and are now becoming experts in using the system and producing high quality shows with little teacher input, not to mention the speaking and listening and communication skills they're picking up!
I'd highly recommend the system for any school and thank Russell and the team for their slick service and willingness to help us in achieving success.
Mark and all the children at Fitzmaurice!
Immediately the students were engaged and buzzing with what they were producing. This is truly going to be one of the best investments that the school has ever made. The final highlight of the day was running a broadcast into our assembly to share the achievements of the day.
As well as the amazing kit there is Russell. A truly inspiring and charismatic individual who has made the whole experience simply spectacular. Our pupils have complex needs and Russell was able to engage every single one of them. Some amazing moments through the day. It is also lovely to know that Russell is on hand to help whenever we need it.
Thankyou for everything.
Hannah and the Springfields Academy.
The radio helps our AGAT students to shine in producibg shows but we will next work with our pupils who have lower literacy skills to encourage them to develop these skills.
We would strongly recommend this teaching and learning solution.
Russel came in to give us a whole day's inset as part of the purchasing cost and he was a very good teacher. The children and I learnt so much about the equipment and radio techniques, and I felt very confident afterwards that I could teach this to the rest of the school.
I have initially trialled the equipment with my year 6 classes, and now intend to have a regular lunchtime club with children vertically grouped across the whole school. Many children returned an electronic audition to me, and I am pleased to say that this group will begin work next week. They will broadcast live across the school for 30 minutes every lunchtime, and they will be in charge of what goes on the show and putting it together.
I know that this radio system will be an excellent purchase for the school for years to come and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If your school can afford it, buy it, sit back, let the kids go with it and watch them flourish!

We have all be blown away by it's potential! A core group of children currently form the radio team with all classes contributing an article each week for our Friday show.
From the start Russell has been fantastic, his enthusiasm, passion and understanding of learning is unshakeable. The training day was fantastic and by the time he had left teachers and learners had got a firm grasp of how to use the broadcaster.
The equipment itself is great - really easy to use and allows the children to quickly get a really professional sounding show out.
Russell's after care has also been terrific - we encountered a problem last week (of our own making!) and one phone call to Russell immediately got us back on track.
I couldn't recommend highly enough -and I'm very fussy! ;)

The children quickly acquired (within an hour) the basic skills necessary to produce a live broadcast using jingles, talk and music, gaining confidence quickly to attempt some relatively sophisticated techniques. As it can be used alongside Skype, the world really will be at our fingertips.
Although the equipment is relatively new to the school the children adore using it. It is so well organised and tailored for children in mind. The desk and touch screen monitor is clear and simple to use and the children have picked up very complicated (in many of the other teachers minds) procedures to make their broadcasts great successes.
Our school pupils and staff would highly recommend this fabulous piece of modern technology to any school. The equipment has so many uses for broadcasts that we are still exploring. So if your school has the spare cash then makensure you get this.
Russell and Sarah delivered our radio on our Inservice Day to enable staff to receive training. The feedback was 100% positive and Russell's energised presentation enthused staff. Every question was answered and we are reassured by having the phone support if needed.
We have since been broadcasting on a daily basis, sharing news, music, traffic reports, and weather. The quality of the broadcast is excellent.
The radio is easy to set up and use which means students quickly get working with it. They enjoy broadcasting and listening to each other broadcast. We look forward to linking the radio to our website to enable anyone in the world to listen to us. A huge recommendation for the desktop radio system, and for Russell and Sarah.
We had previously been conducting podcasts/pre-recorded radio broadcasts using a pocket sized mp3 recorder, however only 8 days ago we upgraded to the Desktop Broadcaster and haven't looked back since!
The professional set up has not only raised the quality of our recordings to a whole new level due to the high standard of hardware and software, but the actual appearance of the system itself has led to an unbelievable rise in interest from colleagues subsequently leading to more requests for its use.
Of course given the fact that this is an audio recording and broadcasting system it would be silly of me to continue to type my review, so here is an actual podcast that I recorded last week with my Department Head discussing our first few days use of the Desktop Broadcaster radio system.

If you like what you hear or even if you don't (due to my broadcasting skills) but would like to find out more, then I would strongly recommend getting in touch with Russell Prue from Anderton Tiger who has been extremely supportive throughout our sourcing process and is an absolute wealth of knowledge in this field.
Happy Broadcasting!!!
