Teachit

Teachit has always been about supporting teachers and sharing resources. Founded by English teacher Siobhain Archer in 1999, it started as a tray in the corner of the staffroom. Now, it’s a thriving community of over 480,000 teachers sharing resources and finding inspiration.

For 20 years, Teachit has been publishing high quality teaching and learning resources to support teachers across the primary and secondary curriculum. Our resources are practical, creative and flexible: we know that teachers have many different needs and will want to use and adapt our classroom resources in different ways.

What makes us different?

Our resources are created by classroom teachers before being edited and proofed for accuracy by our team of in-house, subject specialist editors, all of whom are experienced teachers. That way, our members know they’re downloading something that’s been used successfully in the classroom – so no nasty surprises!

Who can register?

Anyone! Teachers, teaching assistants, home tutors, even parents. We also offer subscriptions to departments or schools.

What’s on offer?

Once they’ve registered, members have access to all our PDF resources for free, but a subscription offers access to resources in editable formats such as Word and PowerPoint. What’s more, subscribers have access to a comprehensive range of teaching packs. These packs form the basis of a complete unit of work (of between two and six weeks) and comprise lesson ideas and resources on a particular skill, topic or text. These packs, along with our poster sets, are also available as a one-off purchase to free members.

Curriculum planning and CPD

It doesn’t end there. We’ve recently launched a curriculum planning area for each subject, containing year planners, knowledge organisers, curated resources on specific themes and, for some subjects, GCSE Scheme of Work planners. And our growing CPD library features articles from experts on subjects such as ITE, SEND and Wellbeing. Our members also get a monthly subject-specific newsletter, full of featured resources and news from the world of education.

Fancy sharing your resources?

You may be wondering where we get all our teacher-created resources - that’s where our contributors come in! Anyone can sign up to share their home-made resources with us. If just one is published, the contributor receives a free subscription and begins to accrue royalties. And it’s always nice to be able to tell people you’re a published writer!
