If you know edtech, chances are you know The Edtech Podcast; the one-stop audio-shop for technology innovation in education. In September, fans of the podcast are in for a treat, as the first Edtech Podcast Festival will be held within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Hackney, London.

On Saturday 22nd September 2018, 200 edtech-lovers will head to the headquarters of innovation community Plexal. School leaders and teachers will be joined by policy makers, technologists, investors, startups, learners and media for a day of activities set to improve the dialogue between “ed” and “tech”, for better innovation and impact, through storytelling. And like with any good festival, there will be a veritable smorgasbord of food and music.

Here’s an exciting clip from The Edtech Podcast, announcing the Festival and discussing what attendees can expect from the event:

“The Edtech Podcast Festival aims to bring together everyone involved in education innovation,” enthuses Edtech Podcast founder Sophie Bailey. “We’re talking educators from early years to HE and everything in between, plus startups, bluechips, publishers, investors, government and media. We’ll work hard to mix you up and make your experience as hands-on as possible.

“The ethos of the event is to go home with a head full of ideas, interesting conversations and leads to follow-up. After a gruelling week marking lessons or ‘hustling’ as an entrepreneur, we want you to feel loved! Education innovation cannot be achieved by one side alone. In year one, we aim to bring 200 people together; 70% UK and 30% rest-of-the-world.”

Some of the features announced so far include:

1. A live podcast programme featuring a variety of edu-podcasters, including TeacherToolkit and DebateMate, as well as Sixth Formers from School 21, showcasing their real world learning podcast project.
