Animate 2 Educate, in partnership with Naace, are hosting their 2016 Summer Conference, themed around 'The Art of Computing', on Friday 10th June. Taking place at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Coming to the north east will be some of the best speakers in the world of Primary Computing, with speakers including Lee Parkinson, Mark Anderson, Claire Lotriet, Rachel Orr, David Mitchell, Julian S Wood and many more.

In addition to the high-profile lineup of presenters, The Art of Computing will also boast a large market hall, allowing attendees to view products from many of the top British educational companies. Ticket options begin at £149, and all delegates will receive a free one year Naace membership.

“The 2014 and 2015 Animate 2 Educate Summer Conferences were complete sell outs,” said organiser Martin Bailey, “and tickets for 2016 are already selling fast. Don't delay, book your place today!”

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Single ticket: £149.
  • Single ticket plus overnight accommodation: £199.
  • Pair of tickets: £249.
  • Pair of tickets plus overnight accommodation: £299.
  • Schools wishing to send 3 or more delegates can purchase additional tickets for just £50 extra per ticket.

On the eve of the conference, Animate 2 Educate will once be hosting their very own TeachMeet-style event: Talk on the Tyne 2 - A Night of Geet Canny Teaching Idea. This will be held at The Jury's Inn Hotel (Gateshead Quayside) on Thursday 9th June (7:00pm - 11:00pm). It is a free event, but places must be booked in advance. There is also a special package available that includes Talk on the Tyne 2, overnight accommodation and Art of Computing conference.

As well as a buffet and a series of sessions on 'Geet Canny' teaching ideas, attendees will be treated to a keynote presentation from award-winning speaker and education consultant Nina Jackson.
