Baghdad-born Toronto resident Rusul Alrubail works with leaders, educators, and students to help them cultivate an equitable environment in schools and classrooms. She is the founder of The Writing Project, a student publishing platform that aims to amplify student voice. Rusul is also known for her presentations, such as the TEDx talk ‘Systems of adversity: for the love of teaching’.
Rusul Alrubail is a literacy guru, TEDx speaker, writer, student voice advocate and social justice activist. Her tireless efforts in education are fuelled, in part, by her experiences as an Iraqi refugee. Now settled in Toronto, Rusul recently took the time to tell us more about her work and insights.
