Human Values Foundation

The Human Values Foundation is a leading supplier of practical teaching materials that help schools embed a progressively stimulating values-based culture. Since 1995 it has been providing transformative, holistic, cross-curricular programmes for ages 4 to 14. The comprehensive learning modules enrich behaviour management, integrating SMSC, PSHE education, Citizenship, fundamental British values and SEAL. Each lesson plan fosters a growth mindset and positive attitude, building young citizen’s confidence and self-esteem and a “fluency in values” that enhances all aspects of their personal development.

Considered a ‘beacon of light’ in the education sector, the Human Values Foundation’s comprehensive resources engage children, teachers, parent, carers and non-teaching staff so that young people can truly flourish throughout their school careers in all contexts. The positive character traits acquired over time not only help to raise academic and other performance but also improve learners’ wellbeing, happiness and life chances.

To celebrate the first international World Values Day on the 20th October 2016, the Human Values Foundation is inviting children aged from 7 to 11 years to take part in its global story-writing competition. All stories must be submitted by 14th October 2016. Schools and other organisations throughout the world can take part. The stories must be original and centred around one chosen value (a list of values can be found on the HVF website). Each entry should be no more than 300 words long and can be illustrated, though this is not mandatory.
