This December, teachers and school leaders from across the UK will head to Oxford’s Cheney School for #TMOxford. Taking place on Thursday 15th December and organised by assistant head Amjad Ali, this annual, nationally-trending Christmas TeachMeet is returning for the fourth time, and once again attendees will be treated to a wealth of top-shelf speakers. Innovate My School are proud to be one of the sponsors for this event with a small selection of prizes, and each delegate will receive a copy of the newly-released IMS Guide 2016/17.

Global creativity-events organisation WOW Talks are encouraging schools to get their female students involved with ‘WOW Talks // Women in Tech’. Taking place at London’s Royal Geographical Society on Tuesday 20th September, this free event will expose learners to some of the most exciting careers of the future by bringing together inspiring female tech entrepreneurs and trailblazers. The speakers will share their very personal stories of what inspired them to pursue a career in tech, how they got to where they are today, the challenges they faced on the way and their WOW (Words of Wisdom), all in seven minute sessions. As is standard for WOW Talks, there will also be entertaining live performances intertwined throughout.

On Friday 28th October, Twitter will host the Digital Citizenship Summit, a major gathering of organizations, industry, parenting experts, students, and more. The event will bring together new, well-known, and unexpected voices from a wide variety of backgrounds for a fast-paced and energetic mix of presentations, panels, videos, and awards. The day will be live-streamed to a large global audience, and seeks to broaden the appeal and accessibility to digital citizenship and media literacy.

Animate 2 Educate, in partnership with Naace, are hosting their 2016 Summer Conference, themed around 'The Art of Computing', on Friday 10th June. Taking place at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Coming to the north east will be some of the best speakers in the world of Primary Computing, with speakers including Lee Parkinson, Mark Anderson, Claire Lotriet, Rachel Orr, David Mitchell, Julian S Wood and many more.

This June will see the third annual STEMtech Conference and Showcase take place at the Telford International Centre in Shropshire. A must for school leaders looking to create, sustain and build engagement in STEM, the event will be held around the theme of ‘Skilled for Success’. Both Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th June will see headteachers, principals, subject leaders, business managers, governors and more head to the Centre for a variety of seminars and workshops. Four events in one, tickets for the STEMtech Conference and Showcase are priced from £85 + VAT.

Saturday 21st March saw Primary school teachers from across the UK descend upon Medlock Primary School in Manchester for Primary Rocks Live. A huge event planned by a small group of passionate educators, the gathering was the evolution of Twitter chat #PrimaryRocks. Featuring keynote presentations by Hywel Roberts and Stephen Lockyer, #PrimaryRocks Live saw enthusiastic teachers attend a variety of different workshops, taking home a wealth of CPD and resources.

On Saturday 23rd January, Bournemouth University will host the Digital Citizenship Summit UK, a free-of-charge conference organised to promote “positive, practical, and action-based solutions towards safe, savvy and ethical technology use”. An event that began as a Twitter conversation, #DigCitSummitUK is the British evolution of the Digital Citizenship Summit, who enjoyed their inaugural gathering in Connecticut during October 2015.

BP has launched the second Ultimate STEM Challenge, a competition in partnership with the Science Museum and STEMNET. This year, students aged 11-14 across the UK are being challenged to use their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) skills to develop energy efficient solutions to real-world challenges. The celebratory final event will take place in March at the Science Museum in London, and all entries must be uploaded on the BP Educational Service (BPES) website by 15th January 2016.
