Our 2018/19 Lead LIVE roadshow kicked off in Wigan, with educators sharing a wealth of ideas to address excess workload in schools. The roadshow features talks from innovative school leaders on tackling teacher's timesinks, a prize draw, and a 'speed dating' session with ten of the best edtech providers in the country. The roadshow is now heading to WellingboroughPeterboroughLiverpoolBradfordHertfordshire and Hove, and these happy school leaders explain what you can expect...

"This was the first event like this I've been to - absolutely phenomenal!” declared Britannia Bridge Primary head Damon Donaldson at the end of our Wigan event. “I had no idea what to expect, particularly because it was a free event, and I've walked away from today knowing that I've got lots of ideas to reduce workload for my staff. I can't wait to get back to school and get stuck in!"

The Grange School head of edtech Andy Lumley, meanwhile, had this to say of the Greater Manchester event: “It was great to meet people this morning at Lead LIVE. I've plenty to take back to my SLT, with lots of new ideas to help implement some edtech throughout school.

“I thought the talk about marking and workload was really informative and eye-opening, and I enjoyed the Speed Dating as it 'forced' you to speak to everyone - which never happens at an event like this normally! I've already spoken to people at my school about things they need to check out. I will certainly look at attending Innovate My School events in the future.”

Each event features a variety of speakers, resources and techniques for the reduction of workload. What’s more, thanks to our amazing sponsors, tickets are completely free-of-charge.

Deborah Bostock is headteacher at Our Lady's Bishop Eton Primary in Liverpool, who will be hosting 9th November’s event. She said:

“We are committed to working collaboratively to ensure the best possible experience for all of the children in our Teaching School Alliance. We are also committed to working collaboratively in order to support both the professional development and the work/life balance of all of the staff in our alliance. Maintaining a focus on progress whilst ensuring our school systems are effective and manageable is central to this.

“Our school looks forward to welcoming you to this exciting and informative event on 9th November, packed full of new concepts and solutions which will help all of us to address the important issue of Teacher Workload and work/life balance.”
