One out-of-hours school activity that is particularly on the increase, especially in Primary schools, is breakfast clubs. Research by the Educational Endowment Foundation back in late 2016 found that along with improvements in attainment, breakfast clubs also contributed to better behavior and attitudes. This is one of reasons why the government has recently announced £26 million to help more than 1,770 state schools run breakfast club schemes.
Providing evidence on the success of these clubs is going to be vital for schools if they want to continue receiving funding - this starts by knowing who has attended, the frequency of attendance, and the ability to easily report back.
The InVentry sign-in and visitor management system is equipped to support schools with these challenges, through resources such as dedicated club registration app ClubReg. Clubs can be set up on any device in seconds. When a pupil is signed in or out of the club, the information is transferred to the InVentry core database, meaning that all staff can see up-to-the-minute data for who is onsite. Along with ensuring safeguarding is maintained out-of-hours, ClubReg gives you an accurate record of who has and hasn’t attended clubs. This is a powerful tool for evidencing attendance, which can be used to secure funding or measure impact of initiatives such as breakfast clubs.

Along with in school activities, the InVentry sign in and visitor management system also has a specific module to help keep children safe when they are out in the community. This allows staff to sign pupils in and out for things like school trips. Using their school ID, teachers sign out pupils when they leave school and sign them in when they arrive back in school. From a safeguarding perspective, this means that in case of an emergency, schools have instant access to accurate pupil location information.
Whether out in the community, or just partaking in activities outside normal school hours, InVentry makes sure everyone is tracked properly to leave schools feeling confident that their pupils are safe.
