In each free KS2 resource, pupils are challenged to write and perform their work on video (with the simple use of a camera or iPad), before submitting it to LitFilmFest.com for the opportunity to win a YouTube Kids filming day, or the chance to see themselves on screen at a local cinema!
From balanced arguments about online safety, to instruction writing on healthy eating, here’s the lowdown on each project:
- Masters of the Digiverse: A balanced argument writing resource supported by Adobe Education, challenging pupils to bring their adults up to speed with online safety! Pupils will consider digital health, digital safety and digital respect.
- Pupil Parliament: This news reports and speech writing unit is supported by none other than the Houses of Parliament! Pupils research, write and edit their own news reports and discover how the Houses of Parliament can be approached to solve issues in the real world.
- Kitchen Kid: An instruction writing project that combines Science and Literacy to give pupils a unique way to learn about making healthy eating, food groups and cooking. What’s more, BBC Good Food will showcase two winners every month on their YouTube channel!
- Change It: A persuasive letter writing project supported by Change.org. Pupils are to take action on current issues which concern them, such as plastic pollution or homelessness, and create a campaign video that supports a change.org petition.
- Film Trailers: These five-lesson narrative writing projects, supported by The Literacy Shed, help pupils to craft a short, powerful narrative focusing on tension and suspense.
