Through writing, filming and submitting one of the free, downloadable literacy projects, pupils aren’t just motivated by a digital end goal and the opportunity to write for an audience. They also have the chance to receive a professional filming day from YouTube Kids, and see their efforts celebrated at a regional cinema screening. Check out the video below to discover why LitFilmFest is worth getting excited about:
All Primary schools are invited to take part, and SLT are already working with teachers to ensure that classrooms across the UK are getting inspired. Several venues have already been confirmed for LitFilmFest 2018, with more to be announced shortly:
- London, at the BFI IMAX, Waterloo.
- Liverpool, at the FACT Cinema.
- Bradford, at the Science and Media Museum.
- Devon, at the Alexandra Cinema.
- Southampton, at the Harbour Lights Picturehouse.
- York, at the City Screen Picturehouse.
- Jersey, at Cineworld.
To get started, it’s as easy as visiting the the LitFilmFest website and selecting from the six free project categories. All planning, presentations and supporting resources are free and ready to download, allowing your teachers to channel their efforts into what they do best - teach!
Winning classes will be chosen every month between now and April, with schools encouraged to complete and enter as many project categories as they like. To find out more, visit litfilmfest.com or contact the team at A Tale Unfolds. Good luck!
