Schools across the UK are streamlining parental engagement with My School App, an innovative new platform that allows staff to send relevant news, updates and events to parents and guardians. Created by developers Pixelhead Creative, the software is tailored to each individual school’s needs, with digital flyers also supplied for printing and distributing. This resource is free to download. The first 10 sign-ups to mention Innovate My School will receive six months free-of-charge, with a further 20% off the set-up costs.

My School App allows parents and guardians to receive push notifications with important updates and messages directly from the school / academy, source contact details, and have complete access to all relevant school news, events and information. Teachers and staff are able to keep them up-to-date with upcoming events and other important announcements. Regular copies of the school’s newsletter can also be distributed automatically.

Pixelhead Creative is headed up by Kyle Butters, whose career spans both web development and school tech support, having spent several years at Hull’s Wheeler Primary School. The company is a smartphone app developer for iPhone, Android and HTML5.

When payments are required for the likes of uniforms and trips, users can send these quickly, easily and securely to the school. All important policies can be made permanently accessible through the platform.

Schools can utilise the software to share podcasts, pupil radio stations, image galleries, diaries, school maps, and even technical features such as QR codes and RSS feeds. This makes My School App ideal for sharing each child’s work with parents.

In addition to the above, the app will have a branded loading page, plus a branded contact page, with handy contact details and a map for parents. As the platform is designed to bel automatic, all schools need to do is add content as and when required / desired.
