On Saturday 5th March, Berkhamsted School in Hertfordshire will host TLAB16, a not-for-profit education conference run for teachers, by teachers. This year’s TLA (teaching, learning and assessment) conference will centre around exploring the importance of imagination and performing at the highest level. Running from 9.00am to 4.00pm, TLAB16’s theme is “Imagine, Believe, Achieve”. The event is now in its fourth year, and welcomes educators from all types of schools. Tickets, including lunch and refreshments, are priced at £50 per person via the TLAB16 Eventbrite page.

The event organisers have announced the keynote speakers as John Neal and Phil Beadle, who will inspire delegates with their ideas and strategies for behaviour, motivation and achievement. John is an elite performance coach who has worked at the highest level in sport, business and the police. Phil, meanwhile, is a renowned educator and author of nine books on teaching and learning. They will inspire and entertain attendees along with the event’s rich and varied programme of workshops.

The feedback for last year’s TLAB15 was hugely positive, and was widely praised on Twitter:

“Unusually, our delegates represent a 50/50 split across the independent/selective and maintained sectors,” said co-organiser Laura Knight. “We cover our costs with small-scale sponsorship and huge amounts of goodwill and enthusiasm! All this is to make sure that colleagues with cover restrictions and non-existent CPD budgets can take part. We are interested in sharing the very best thinking about education with an audience that really cares.”
