Julia Short is press officer at the UK Space Agency, and has occupied this role since the start of the organisation. She has played a key role in raising the positive profile of the UK space sector through a variety of PR activities for a wide range of space projects/missions, including UK astronaut Tim Peake’s mission to the ISS, UK plans for a spaceport and the Rosetta mission’s rendezvous with a comet.
Unless you’ve been living in a vacuum, something the hero of my story is sort of doing, then you will probably be aware that said hero, astronaut Tim Peake, has just blasted off into space, becoming the first Brit to undertake a long-duration mission on-board the International Space Station (ISS).
