  • Teaching School Alliances

The speed dating opened my eyes to the number of businesses and new, innovative computer packages that have been designed to assist in a wide range of teaching areas. The session was an ideal way to find out what was new in the marketplace with a concise and informative pitch from the company representatives.

    Janet Walker

    Chair
    Green Light Teaching School Alliance

  • Multi-Academy Trusts

The speed date went really well. The 42 headteachers in attendance were captivated by what was on offer and the whole day was a great success. Innovate My School listened to our needs and showcased what we were looking for. Very worthwhile for all involved.

    Simon Cowley

    Director of Education
    The White Horse Federation

  • Regional School Clusters

The group loved it! We had a brief discussion after the speed date and everyone enjoyed it. Most School Business Managers don't attend exhibitions as they're too far and are very overwhelmed when they go, so this was ideal.

    Russell Dalton

    Chair
    Worcester School Business Managers

  • International School Groups

By exposing our educators to the best of British edtech solutions through this innovative format, we can further enhance the offering to GEMS students across our network of high-performing schools.

    Senior Manager of Digital Strategy

How It Works

1. Event set up

Your dedicated event coordinator will set up the speed dating event on the day at your chosen venue.

2. Delegate arrival

As the delegates arrive, they will be welcomed and introduced to how the speed date format will work.

3. Split into groups

All delegates will be split into groups to meet each innovation.

4. Meet the innovations

Every group will be simultaneously introduced to a range of the latest innovations for 10 minute sessions. Each group will rotate clockwise after each session until they have met every provider.

5. Rate them

During the sessions, you will be asked to score every provider you’ve met and specify if you’d like to see them again.

6. Implement your choices

You may wish to follow up with any of the companies you met at the speed date.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an innovation speed date?

An innovation speed date provides a fast, fun and effective way of introducing you and your school group to cutting-edge products and services that will help you to innovate your school.

How much does it cost?

Speed dating is completely free to school groups.

How long does a speed date take?

A speed date can be booked for between 1-2 hours. We can work around your tight agenda to ensure the speed date works for you.

How many schools need to attend?

A minimum of 10 schools would need to attend the speed date. More than one person from the same school can attend - we actively encourage this.

How much space is required to hold a speed date?

This will vary depending on how many delegates will attend and how many education providers will be there on the day. This can be discussed with an event co-ordinator at time of booking.

Who will run the event on the day?

An event coordinator will organise the logistics with you or the venue in the run up to the event. An Innovate My School associate will then run the event on the day itself.

Who pays?

Innovate My School is supplier-funded, which is how we can make the speed dates available to school groups free of charge.
