For 2019-20, Innovate My School will be running a series of free CPD workshops to help schools build their EdTech Strategy.

What’s it all about?

The newly published Department For Education's EdTech strategy calls on industry to support schools in overcoming challenges associated with implementing edtech. However, like any school implementation, a digital strategy consists of a well planned framework to accommodate change and shift in culture. Much too often, schools arm themselves with top of the range technologies only to find that through poor design, analysis and implementation, they are not able to transform the mindsets of their teaching staff. These are expensive mistakes to make and can be avoided.

This workshop, created and delivered by Dr Neelam Parmar, is aimed at supporting senior leaders to increasing a more successful design, implementation and sustainable digital strategy within their school. Delegates will leave with a mini implementation plan to commence their own brave and bold edtech journey.

Who is Dr Neelam Parmar?

Dr Neelam Parmar is Director of E-Learning at Ashford School, part of the United Learning Trust. She is instrumental in leading the transformational change of embedding technology within teaching, learning and development. Neelam completed her PhD in Developing a Pedagogy while using New Technology.

Dates will be announced shortly.

quote"What a success! We were all so pleased with just how well our IMS LIVE event went. Every single person who came found me at the end before they left to say what a great day it had been and how useful it had been to attend. I think they each went away with at least one action to follow up.” - Kirsty Tonks, Principal, Shireland Technology Primary

quote“It was fantastic to host the IMS LIVE event. The speakers were all really engaging and sowed lots of seeds of innovative ideas with us all. The speed-dating session enabled 10 organisations to share how their solutions meet the needs that school leaders face. Sharing the #womened community mission and values with this room opened up a really interesting discussion about diversity and equality in schools, including reflecting on the need for more innovative approaches to the attraction, recruitment, retention and deployment of staff. Watch this space for a follow up event!” - Hannah Wilson, Headteacher, Aureus School

quote"Our IMS LIVE event was a resounding success. All who attended were impressed with the range of companies present. The event had great pace and flowed really well. Myself and the rest of my colleagues at Essa Academy came away with lots of innovative ideas. The event was well attended which made for an excellent opportunity to network and collaborate with local leaders. Hosting the event was made simple by Innovate My School. It was well worth doing!" - Martin Knowles, Principal, Essa Academy

quote"What a fantastic event! We are delighted with how our IMS LIVE event went this week. All of the heads who attended were very positive about the chance to network with both colleagues and providers. It was fantastic for the academy to host a regional event on this scale and the team at Innovate My School were a pleasure to work alongside. For us, the blend of speed dating style activities and presentations gave us the chance to sample lots of products without the heavy sales pitch.” - Mat Galvin, Deputy Head, Winsford Academy
