Wellingborough | 5th October 2018
Why should I attend?
In March this year, education secretary Damian Hinds pledged to strip away workload that doesn’t add value in the classroom and give teachers the time to focus on teaching, in his first speech to the profession. This event very much continues the momentum at a regional level, calling in first at Sir Christopher Hatton Academy in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
For the 5th October, we have teamed up with the Hatton Teaching School Alliance to bring you an action-packed agenda full of practical ideas to strategically reduce marking, lesson planning and back office admin - to name just a few of the key pain-points schools are facing regarding workload.
Speaking at the event will be the SSAT (schools, students and teachers network). Their session "It ain't what you do, but the way you do it - and that's what gets results" will cover leading learning, devolved responsibility to staff, and greater sharing of resources, ideas and reflections through the TLC to reduce teacher workload. Senior education leaders Andy Williams will share his experience and ideas around effective use of ICT from TEEP, and how using a TLC could reduce the impact on teachers.
There couldn't be an Innovate My School event without one of our super-efficient Speed Dating sessions. We've vetted 10 of the best edtech providers that are shaving off hours of time for their school customers. Meet them all in one!
In addition to some top-notch food, we will be sharing the findings of our own national edtech survey, and revealing our new evaluation framework to support senior leaders in rapidly evaluating the effectiveness of edtech in their school - as well as the impact this can have on workload.
All of our events have an inclusive feel. Built from the ground up, they provide a unique blend of grassroots ideas combined with national voices, where attendees can share, discuss and debate ideas throughout the day - or simply lurk in the background. Whichever you prefer, we hope to see you there.
