Lead LIVE East Sussex

East Sussex | 30th November 2018

Secondary school event

motionmailapp.com

Eventbrite - Innovate My School Lead LIVE @ East Sussex

Why should I attend?

In March this year, education secretary Damian Hinds pledged to strip away workload that doesn’t add value in the classroom and give teachers the time to focus on teaching, in his first speech to the profession. This event very much continues the momentum at a regional level, with a visit to Blatchington Mill School and Sixth Form College in Hove, East Sussex

For the 30th November, we have teamed up with The Pavilion & Downs Teaching School Alliance to bring you an action-packed agenda full of practical ideas to strategically reduce marking, lesson planning and back office admin - to name just a few of the key pain-points schools are facing regarding workload.

There couldn't be an Innovate My School event without one of our super-efficient Speed Dating sessions. We've vetted 10 of the best edtech providers that are shaving off hours of time for their school customers. Meet them all in one go!

In addition to some top-notch food, we will be sharing the findings of our own national edtech survey, and revealing our new evaluation framework to support senior leaders in rapidly evaluating the effectiveness of edtech in their school - as well as the impact this can have on workload.

All of our events have an inclusive feel. Built from the ground up, they provide a unique blend of grassroots ideas combined with national voices, where attendees can share, discuss and debate ideas throughout the day - or simply lurk in the background. Whichever you prefer, we hope to see you there.

Who is the event aimed at?

  • Headteachers
  • Business managers
  • Deputy headteachers
  • Assistant headteachers
  • SLT
  • Subject leaders
  • Tech leaders
  • Curriculum / Phase coordinators

How much does it cost to attend?

Everything we do is free for schools, and this event is no different. Places are free for up to 2 delegates and includes breakfast, refreshments and an executive lunch.

We have space for 50 delegates per event, so we strongly recommend you book your ticket in advance!

In March this year, education secretary Damian Hinds pledged to strip away workload that doesn’t add value in the classroom and give teachers the time to focus on teaching, in his first speech to the profession. This event very much continues the momentum at a regional level, with a visit to Our Lady's Bishop Eton Primary School in Liverpool

For the 9th November, we have teamed up with The South Liverpool Learning Network to bring you an action-packed agenda full of practical ideas to strategically reduce marking, lesson planning and back office admin - to name just a few of the key pain-points schools are facing regarding workload.

Joining us will be The Chartered College of Teaching, who will be running an interactive CPD session that shows senior leaders how to tackle their top 5 challenges using evidence-informed teaching and learning. Attendees will also be given printed copies of both their latest self-evaluation toolkit and The Journal to take away.

Also speaking at the Lead LIVE event in Liverpool will be the SSAT (schools, students and teachers network). Their session "It ain't what you do, but the way you do it - and that's what gets results" will cover leading learning, devolved responsibility to staff, and greater sharing of resources, ideas and reflections through the TLC to reduce teacher workload. Senior education leaders Andy Williams and Corrine Settle will share their experiences and ideas around effective use of ICT from TEEP, and how using a TLC could reduce the impact on teachers.

What's in it for me?

Back by popular demand, the next series of the Innovate My School LIVE roadshow focuses on how schools today are doing more with less, and how they can continue to innovate in spite of squeezed budgets.

Hosted by the forward-thinking Essa Academy, the 23rd November will bring together senior leaders from across Bolton and Greater Manchester to share best practice, develop new ideas and make meaningful partnerships.

We will be encouraging attendees to share their stories at the event and filming on-the-spot Innovation Burst videos, which will be later shared with our online community. Spectators are also welcome, as there will be lots of ideas to take away and glean from this event.

There will also be two opportunities to speed date during the day. Ten innovative companies handpicked by us have been given the brief of supporting schools to do more with less.

Who should go?

Any senior leader in the region who wants to learn from peers and forward thinking companies, about tried and tested practices and products that will help them innovate their budget.

  • Headteachers
  • Business Managers
  • Deputy Headteachers
  • Assistant Headteachers
  • SLT
  • Subject Leaders
  • Curriculum / Phase Coordinators

How much does it cost to attend?

This event is free of charge for up to two delegates per school and includes breakfast, refreshments and an executive lunch. Tickets will go fast, so book yours in advance!

Who are the suppliers?

This is a surprise! Each of the 10 non-competing suppliers have been selected based on the brief of supporting schools to innovate their budget. This could be through solutions that create cost savings, help to open up other revenue streams or are proven to support student outcomes.
